This paper explores several characteristics of patents in the biotechnology field, comparing and contrasting them to patents in other fields of research. We find that biotechnology patents face a longer lag between application and grant date, and their secrecy would be heavily affected if legislation were to permit publication 18 months after application. They are highly concentrated geographically, as well as in industrial origin, and are used most heavily in the health sector, but have a wider spread in use than in origin. They use many more (and much more recent) references than the average patent, with a special weight on academic or scientific literature, foreign patents, and a tight circle of research fields. While they are not cited frequently on average, their use as germplasm is rising. Future research should focus on the questions that have been uncovered Manuscript profile

The concept of strategic entrepreneurship refers to simultaneously engaging in the activities of discovering (creating knowledge and new capabilities) and exploiting (exploiting existing and current organizational resources and knowledge), which has increasingly attracted attention in strategic management and organizational entrepreneurship literature. In spite of this importance, there are two significant theoretical gaps in the context of Iran. First, how can organizations create strategic entrepreneurship capability in their organizations and what are the effective factors in this regard? Second, does basically strategic entrepreneurship lead to business growth or not? The statistical population of this research includes 93 active food industry companies in Tehran and Gorgan. The questionare was completed by 75 firms which are statistically generalizable based on the Cochran formula. Reliability of the survey instrument is confirmed using Cronbach Alpha. Content and construct validity tests were confirmed by some university professors and statistical techniqies such as confirmatoty factor analysis respectively. Finally, research hypotheses were tested by structural equation modeling (SEM) using Smartpls software. The results show that Entrepreneurial mindset, entrepreneurial culture, entrepreneurial leadership and creativity and innovation through strategic entrepreneurship have a significant positive effect on a firm’s growth. The entrepreneurial mindset is the concept that works on the way of decision-making in entrepreneurial processes and tries to specify the differences between entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurs in terms of the personality and cognitive systems that influence decision making. Despite growing studies have been done in the conceptual framework of the entrepreneurial mindset, this concept is faced with a lack of measurement tools that cover the broad dimensions of entrepreneurial decision-making. In this regard, the purpose of this research is to develop an instrumental tool for the entrepreneurial mindset. In the first section, the first items were identified with extensive study of the background of the research. Then, the final tool was designed in the form of 4 diminsion, 18 factors and 54 items with three steps of the Delphi method and applying present expert’s opinions in the panel. Participants in the Delphi section were entrepreneurship faculty, corporate and independent entrepreneurs, as well as several psychologists and psychiatrists. The results of the research indicate that all 54 final items are considered important for entrepreneurs and have an average of more than 4 in the Likert spectrum. Also, prioritizing the factors of the entrepreneurial mindset shows that the skills, personality traits of the first category, personality traits of the second category and motivators, in that order, have most significances in the formation of the entrepreneurial mindset. Many scholars have highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship ecosystems in improving entrepreneurial activities, but, nevertheless, studies that are quantitatively analyzing the interrelationship between entrepreneurship ecosystems and their impact on increasing entrepreneurial activities at various stages of entrepreneurship are very limited. Therefore, the aim of this study is to fill the gap in entrepreneurship literature and also to study the effect of these two variables in different stages of development of countries. In this regard, using data from 107 GEM countries During 2008-2017 and Generalized Momentary Econometric Model (GMM), the relationship between the components of the entrepreneurship ecosystem and economic growth has been estimated. The results showed that the impact of the financial environment on the entrepreneurial stages in the resource-based countries was negative and significant. However, the impact of entrepreneurship education, dynamics of the domestic market, social status of entrepreneurs (entrepreneurial culture) and the GDP growth have had a positive and significant impact on entrepreneurship in these countries. The results also indicate that the impact of ecosystem factors such as government policies and programs, taxes and bureaucracy, entrepreneurial education at basic and academic levels, R&D transfer, infrastructure, market dynamics and appropriate business environment have positive and significant impact on the growth of entrepreneurial activities in efficiency and innovation-driven countries. Overall, the results of this study indicate that in an ecosystem with low barriers to entry, government support policies for entrepreneurs, basic and higher education, commercial and legal infrastructure, and normative culture supporting entrepreneurship increases entreprenurial activities Manuscript profile

Rural entrepreneurship can lead to more interaction between rural and urban centers and through the expansion of rural-urban flows (including the flow of people, goods, capital, information and technology), to bilateral relations and, ultimately, to rural-urban linkages. This process, in turn, leads over time to the dynamism of rural areas and the creation of more opportunities for business activities as well as the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of rural settlements. This article examines the possibility of expanding rural entrepreneurship in the villages of Dalahoo district (Kermanshah province) and tries to show that expanding these activities and the relationships connected with them can not only lead to more interaction and connection of the villages with urban centers, but in harmony with urban centers, to the prosperity and development of rural settlements. The statistical population of the study consists of 139 rural settlements in the area, which were examined descriptively and analytically. To this end, library and field methods were used with surveying tools such as questionnaires and interviews to collect the necessary data and information. The indicators used to measure rural entrepreneurship and its effectiveness for sustainable local development included increases in employment and income levels, access to services and efforts to protect the environment. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods and Spss and Excel software, as well as the t-test and the Pearson correlation test. The results of the study show that rural entrepreneurs in the rural Dalahu area, despite some of the area's natural potentials and socio-economic capabilities, have not been as successful and expanding as they should be, and apparently have not been able to properly bring about the rural-urban cohesion, to achieve relative sustainable development at the local level. It is mostly due to the unbalanced distribution of rural settlements and their critical distance from the regional centers, as well as lack of easy access to exchange Bazars, where improper mechanisms are overwhelming. One of the issues encountered by the Iranian Humanities and Social Sciences Society is the commercialization of knowledge and business creation in this field. As a result, the deprivation of business areas from the benefits and capacities of the humanities and social sciences, the wasting of the country's capital, the unemployment of a large number of graduates, immigration and employment in irrelevant businesses are the main consequences of this issue. Therefore, this paper attempts by reviewing the literature on entrepreneurship, the supporting ecosystem of entrepreneurship and the study of two domestic and international universities, provide some solutions for developing university entrepreneurship in the field of humanities and social sciences. The results show that in comprehensive universities, firstly, engineering faculties and then social sciences, economics and management schools engage in entrepreneurship. However, other colleges are resisting entrepreneurship. Therefore, at a humanities university, the stimulation of all faculties for entrepreneurship innovatively, along with the pursuit of scientific and research tasks, should be carefully addressed and start with the colleges whose products and services are closer to the market. In addition, there is no universal framework for creating an academic entrepreneurship ecosystem. Thus, the officials of the universities in the field of humanities must be able to create a environment in which, while preserving the traditional values of education and research, put the commercialization capacity of creating entrepreneurial culture in the university at the center of attention of students and staff. One of the most important tools for entrepreneurial growth and development is the existence of a culture that supports entrepreneurship. In this study, the cultural barriers of entrepreneurship were identified and the entrepreneurial culture and failure culture in the entrepreneurial society were evaluated. This study was conducted on the basis of qualitative and quantitative mixed research. The statistical population included the entrepreneurs of Khorasan Razavi Technical and Vocational Training Centers, which was determined by the purposeful sampling method of snowballs due to the dispersion of the community. The results of the qualitative section showed that entrepreneurs are facing cultural barriers such as lack of culture of creativity, rejection of failure, negative attitude to risk, distrust of women's empowerment, the existence of patriarchal culture in society and organizations and parental opposition to girls' entrepreneurial activities. Also, the results of the quantitative section showed that the rate of failure in the studied community is very high and entrepreneurs agree to give the failed people a chance again. In general, the analysis of qualitative and quantitative results shows that the cultural subsystem in the entrepreneurial ecosystem is not in a good situation and the existing culture is not supportive of entrepreneurship and even prevents the emergence of entrepreneurship in many cases. One of the key factors in achieving sustainable and prosperous economic growth is 'export' which is considered the most important goal in trade policy. Meanwhile, one of the requirements for economic development of the country is increasing food and agricultural export as one of the non-oil commodity export to move away from the oil-based economy, enter the global economic market and create diversity in exported goods. Therefore, the study of effective variables contributing to the field of export is of paramount importance. Considering the crucial role of human's effort and entrepreneurship in regard to religious education, it can be deduced that through examining verse 39 of Surah Najm, verse 15 of Surah Taha, verse 22 of Surah Ansab, the spiritual personality of human beings is directly in line with their own work and effort. In other words, the criterion for admiring people in the world of survival is what they do and the lasting impact they can have on the world. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the effect of export learning orientation and entrepreneurship along with the contributing factors on export performance and to find the paradoxical role of market distance and its moderating role in the relationship between two variables of learning orientation and export performance. To test the research hypotheses, a sample of 296 people who worked in companies that took part in the International Exhibition of Food and Agriculture in 1998 was selected. Using a standard questionnaire and random sampling method, data was collected and analyzed by SPSS and smart PLS software. The findings of the present study depict that the export commitment, resources and intensity of competition have a positive effect on export entrepreneurship, but the effect of market distance on export entrepreneurship is not significant. The results also reveal the positive effect of the export learning orientation and entrepreneurship on the export performance of the sample companies. However, increasing the market distance variable weakens the relationship between export learning orientation and export performance. Manuscript profile

Then, a researcher-developed questionnaire was administered to thirty-five entrepreneurs, experts, and professionals in the field of tourism with at least five years of working experience who were selected via snowball sampling to identify the significance of each criterion with regard to the other ones. Finally, the investigated criteria were ranked using Interpretive structural modeling (ISM). According to the findings of the study, nine levels were identified for the ranking of the investigated criteria, with the ninth level, that is belief in entrepreneurship and the creative use of resources, being the most influential social entrepreneurship criteria involved in rural tourism development in Gilan province. "Due to its very nature, tourism enjoys proper grounds for entrepreneurship development. There are limited studies on the development of entrepreneurship in tourism. Among the growing areas of tourism, ‘Cultural Tourism’ could be referred to as a demanding preference for development in areas with the potentials for growth. This study sought to provide a model for entrepreneurship development in cultural tourism using Grounded theory. To this end, some eleven semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect the required data, out of which and 367 primary codes, 97 secondary codes, 44 concept codes were extracted and classified into ten distinct categories. The study’s population consisted of university instructors and lecturers, experts working in state-owned tourism institutions, the owners of active businesses in Yazd cultural tourism, and the professionals within the field who were selected through ‘theoretical sampling.’ Moreover, the sample size was determined based on theoretical saturation. The study’s results found via the application of the ‘three-pronged model’ indicated that factors involved in the development of cultural tourism entrepreneurship could be categorized in three general categories of ‘structural factors,’ grounds and ‘environmental conditions, and ‘behavioral factors,’ each including their own relevant components and indices. Developing the rural entrepreneurship ecosystem could be considered an appropriate strategy to accelerate the development of rural areas and increase job opportunities. On the other hand, applying entrepreneurship to Iran’s ecotourism and rural tourism is considered a supplement to agricultural activities to create favorable living conditions for the villagers and resolve the challenges existing in rural development. Therefore, this study sought to present a model for developing the rural entrepreneurship ecosystem in target tourism villages of Khorasan Razavi province using a qualitative research method with an applied descriptive-survey approach. To this end, the required data were collected via semi-structured interviews made with fifteen managers and board members of eco-tourist resorts. The data were then analyzed using the Grounded Theory method. Moreover, the validity and reliability of the model were measured via the Kappa index and confirmed by two researchers in the field of tourism and a few university professors. The study’s results suggested that the development of the ecosystem requires the decision maker to consider five aspects, including strategic orientation and effective leadership, identify appropriate sites’ locations, monitor the ecosystem’s development and provide its improvement mechanisms, set the demand-side policies, supply-side policies, and twelve sub-factors. Therefore, it could be argued that the proposed model may provide valuable insights for the development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in rural areas with an emphasis on ecotourism opportunities. Over the past few decades, we have faced the failure of universities to create and strengthen entrepreneurial motivation among students. In fact, there has been a mismatch between the current capacity of universities for admission and the future needs of the job market, as well as the content of education and the skills required for launching new businesses. Consequently, we are witnessing graduates who mostly lack the individual capability and necessary skills to start a new venture. On the other hand, with the new approach of Iranian universities towards third-generation universities and with all the current education and the presence of risk-taking investors, accelerators, various funds, creative houses, innovation factories, technology parks, and growth centers, the number of startups that have overcome the death valley and succeeded is still low, and the number of unemployed graduates increases every day. In this regard, considering the inefficiency of Iran's national innovation system, this problem has been doubled. Therefore, this study seeks to review the literature comprehensively and take into account the points raised in other perspectives, and with a broader view, examine the mediating effect of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on entrepreneurship education and students' entrepreneurial intentions. It is recommended that universities pay attention to the variable of entrepreneurial self-efficacy in their education, as education alone may not create entrepreneurial intention. Familiarity with entrepreneurship barriers in Iran may discourage students from experiencing entrepreneurship. There is a need for an agent through which students believe they can overcome obstacles Manuscript profile

Unemployment and lack of job opportunities are one of the main problems of villages, especially among rural youth. The decrease in agricultural sector workers shows the fact that in the future, increasing employment in rural areas depends on the development of industry and service sectors. Entrepreneurship as an engine of economic development can be one of the main strategies for solving rural problems, diversifying the economy and optimally using the resources of the country's villages. Tourism is one of the largest and fastest growing industries, as a result of the new demands of tourists and the need to diversify tourism products and destinations, it provides a basis for the development of businesses, especially small and medium businesses, and the development of entrepreneurship. . Both the government and the indigenous people consider tourism as a potential source of employment and economic growth for indigenous communities. By creating new job opportunities, the tourism industry strengthens the position of local people in society and economic independence. The development of ethnic and nomadic tourism also improves investment, infrastructure development and increases the incomes of local people. Tourists traveling to ethnic and nomadic areas pay more money to buy souvenirs and stay in such areas, so ethnic and nomadic tourism is an important tool of economic development. Manuscript profile

Entrepreneurship is one of the important tools in the field of business as well as a way to face the unknown world. Government organizations, like commercial organizations, can step into new procedures and methods through entrepreneurship. The present research was conducted with the aim of presenting the development model of organizational entrepreneurship in government organizations. For this reason, it was tried to design the antecedents of organizational entrepreneurship in the form of a model. The research method is functional in terms of purpose, and structural-interpretive in terms of the method of conducting and collecting qualitative data. The statistical population of the research included experts in the field of entrepreneurship and university professors (22 people in total) who participated in the Delphi panel to extract the factors affecting organizational entrepreneurship based on the three-pronged model according to their opinion. In this way, the experts were first asked to comment on the factors affecting entrepreneurship, and classify them in three dimensions: contextual, structural and behavioral. The method of selecting experts was based on the snowball method. To collect data, firstly, through the Delphi technique, the components related to the three-pronged factors were extracted, and after reaching a general consensus, in order to relate these factors and provide a model of factors affecting organizational entrepreneurship, the interpretive structural modeling (ISM) method was used. MICMAC software for categorize and analyze the power of penetration and the degree of dependence of the factors was used. The obtained results showed that a total of 5 contextual factors, 6 behavioral factors and 11 structural factors are generally involved in the development of organizational entrepreneurship. The results also showed that in the designed model, contextual, structural and behavioral factors are the antecedents of organizational entrepreneurship. At the end of the research, practical suggestions for organizations were presented Manuscript profile

Entrepreneurs have a great impact on the economic growth of a country, therefore, raising the generation of entrepreneurs and preparing them for economic activities is very important. What makes entrepreneurial talent come into action and manifest is entrepreneurial self-efficacy, which ultimately leads to entrepreneurial intention. Considering the necessity of entrepreneurship education in promoting entrepreneurship and the appropriateness of childhood to create a deep attitude about entrepreneurship, educational programs of primary school should be targeted and implemented in order to raise awareness and strengthen attitudes towards entrepreneurship. And as researchers increasingly pay attention to entrepreneurship education, there is a lack of empirical evidence on how to prepare for entrepreneurship education at an early age. Therefore, this study investigates the effect of outdoor learning environment and entrepreneurship education on students' entrepreneurial self-efficacy. The findings showed that the outdoor learning environment is closely related to entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Second, entrepreneurship education plays an important role in mediating the relationship between outdoor learning environment and students' self-efficacy. Our research provides insight to future researchers that early education plays an important role in the growth and development of self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intentions. Manuscript profile
