This paper proposes an accurate information-theoretic security analysis of Scalar Costa Scheme (SCS) when the SCS is employed in the embedding layer of digital image watermarking. For this purpose, Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) coefficients are extracted from the cover images. Then, the SCS is used to embed watermarking messages into mid-frequency DCT coefficients. To prevent unauthorized embedding and/or decoding, the SCS codebook is randomized using the pseudorandom dither signal which plays the role of the secret key. A passive attacker applies Known Message Attack (KMA) on the watermarked messages to practically estimate the secret key. The security level is measured using residual entropy (equivocation) of the secret key provided that the attacker’s observations are available. It can be seen that the practical security level of the SCS depends on the host statistics which has contradiction with previous theoretical result. Furthermore, the practical security analysis of the SCS leads to the different values of the residual entropy in comparison with previous theoretical equation. It will be shown that these differences are mainly due to existence of uniform regions in images that cannot be captured by previous theoretical analysis. Another source of such differences is ignoring the dependencies between the observations of non-uniform regions in previous theoretical analysis. To provide an accurate reformulation, the theoretical equation for the uniform regions and the empirical equation for the non-uniform regions are proposed. Then, by combining these equations a new equation is presented for the whole image which considers both host statistics and observations dependencies. Finally, accuracy of the proposed formulations is examined through exhaustive simulations. Manuscript profile

DDoS attacks aim at making the authorized users unable to access the network resources. In the present paper, an evidence theory based security method has been proposed to confront DDoS attacks in software-defined wireless sensor networks. The security model, as a security unit, is placed on the control plane of the software-defined wireless sensor network aiming at detecting the suspicious traffic. The main purpose of this paper is detection of the DDoS attack using the central controller of the software-defined network and entropy approach as an effective light-weight and quick solution in the early stages of the detection and, also, Dempster-Shafer theory in order to do a more exact detection with longer time. Evaluation of the attacks including integration of data from the evidence obtained using Dempster-Shafer and entropy modules has been done with the purpose of increasing the rate of detection of the DDoS attack, maximizing the true positive, decreasing the false negative, and confronting the attack. The results of the paper show that providing a security unit on the control plane in a software-defined wireless sensor network is an efficient method for detecting and evaluating the probability of DDoS attacks and increasing the rate of detection of an attacker. During the last decade, the key role of information and communication technology has proven to facilitate the process of transition and change of organizations; The e-readiness is the platform for entering into the modern time and activities in the networked world ad well as competition in the market. Thus, the design of e-readiness evaluation models, regarding the internal and environmental conditions of organizations and communities with the purpose of assessing their e-readiness level is necessary. However, without the evaluation of e-readiness of the organization, activity in the networked world will be impossible and have very high obstacles. In this paper, a brief introduction of the proposed models for the evaluation of the e-readiness and their classification have been discussed. Moreover, the factors influencing the e-readiness of the small and medium-sized enterprises to enter the e-commerce market have been investigated and detected through a combination approach of Shannon entropy. In this paper, after identifying and introducting existing models; the concepts, dimensions, and indices of the research were extracted and ranked by the Shannon entropy method. The results of this study show that the first ranked factors were organizational factors. Then environmental and man power factors were ranked second and third, respectively. Manuscript profile

Abstract Projects are planned based on estimated amounts that are the result of having little information about the future plans. According to the uncertainty of planning, time delays and costs of uncertainty are inevitable. The main objective of this study is to present a new approach based on failure mode and effects analysis and fuzzy logic to identify the affecting risks on duration of projects and ranking them using Kepland technique. In addition, in this research Shannon entropy is used for calculation of the weights of indexes. So after the study of related researches as well as through interviews and Delphi technique, some risks were identified. Then, based on three indicators of risk in the FMEA (severity, probability of occurrence, probability of detection), three questionnaire was prepared and their validity was confirmed by experts and reliability was calculated by Cronbach coefficient using SPSS software. The population of the study is 22 managers and experts that work on Debal Khazaei Company. Using triangular fuzzy numbers, the verbal variables of questionnaires became fuzzy numbers. Shannon entropy is used for calculation of weight of each index. Then, using decision making methods, ELECTRE TAXONOMY, TOPSIS and SAW, the risks are ranked. Finally, because of the relative difference of ranking in different techniques, Kapland technique is used to combine the results. TO help for developing the strategies of responding to the risks, some suggestions are presented. The contribution of this research is the simultaneous use of FMEA and Shannon's entropy to analisys the importance of risks and the ranking of them using Kepland technique. Manuscript profile

One of the challenges of high dimensional outlier detection problem is the curse of dimensionality which irrelevant dimensions (features) lead to hidden outliers. To solve this problem, some dimensions that contain valuable information to detect outliers are searched to make outliers more prominent and detectable by mapping the dataset into the subspace which is constituted of these relevant dimensions/features. This paper proposes an outlier detection method in high dimensional data by introducing a new locally relevant subspace selection and developing a local density-based outlier scoring. First, we present a locally relevant subspace selection method based on local entropy to select a relevant subspace for each data point due to its neighbors. Then, each data point is scored in its relevant subspace using a density-based local outlier scoring method. Our adaptive-bandwidth kernel density estimation method eliminates the slight difference between the density of a normal data point and its neighbors. Thus, normal data are not wrongly detected as outliers. At the same time, our method underestimates the actual density of outlier data points to make them more prominent. The experimental results on several real datasets show that our local entropy-based subspace selection algorithm and the proposed outlier scoring can achieve a high accuracy detection rate for the outlier data. Due to subsurface heterogeneity and existing vagueness in geophysical interpretation, identifying and interpretation of facies in wellbores is always prone to uncertainty and risk. Nowadays several methods have developed for quantitative facies interpretation. These methods are generally divided into deterministic and stochastic categories. Deterministic methods, in spite of their simple modeling procedure, cannot expose the amount of error or accuracy of the model. On the other hand, stochastic methods, in addition to quantifying the error of the model, can provide the probability of the model’s accuracy in each point of the reservoir. The Bayesian approach is one of the stochastic methods that use conditional probabilities for modeling. This approach, as well as probabilistic modeling of hydrocarbon facies, quantitatively computes the effect of additional data in decreasing the error of the classification. Information entropy theory, by quantifying the intrinsic uncertainty in each model input parameter, can easily provide the selection of valuable parameters. The present study was carried out on one of the wells of Mansuri oil field, south of Iran. After generation of training data by using rock physics techniques and Gassmann’s relation, the value of each input parameter was identified by entropy analysis. Then, by use of Bayesian analysis and valuable parameters, oil facies classification and discrimination was implemented. The five optimum parameters were elastic impedance, compressional wave velocity, shear wave velocity, density and porosity .The amount of error in this method is approximated to be 11 percent. This investigation also showed that gamma ray parameter does not have a drastic positive effect on identification and discrimination procedure of oil facies, which has a good agreement with the results of entropy analysis . Growth and survival is one of the most important challenges for start-ups in the current situation. On the one hand, the coopetition strategy in the last two decades in order to gain, maintain and improve the competitive position has been considered by many businesses. Start-up can gain a good coopetition position in many areas by using a competitive strategy. So far, research has not examined the factors that are involved in the implementation of a coopetition strategy in start-up. In this method, in order to explain the factors affecting the application of the coopetition strategy, first by systematic review of the literature and using the method of meta-synthetic qualitative research, all dimensions of the coopetition strategy were identified. Then the importance and priority of each of the proposed factors is determined using the Shannon quantitative entropy method. After analyzing the articles, the effective factors were classified into 6 categories, 16 dimensions and 68indicators. The results showed; The most important categories are "institutional factors", "strategic factors", "environmental factors","individual-managerial factors","participatory factors","communication factors" respectively. Among the dimensions, " Events " were in the first place, " Supporting institutions ," and " Good reputation of the company " and , "Having coopetitive mindset " were in the second ,third and Fourth places. This study provides a deep understanding of the existing literature on coopetition strategy in start-ups by organizing the factors affecting it and can be used in planning for their growth and survival in complex and dynamic market conditions to compete with other businesse Manuscript profile

Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of objects on which objects can communicate with other objects. The Internet of Things is currently constantly under numerous attacks due to technical, legal and human problems. One of the most important of these attacks is the Denial of Service (DoS) attack, in which normal network services are out of service and it is impossible for objects and users to access the server and other resources. Existing security solutions have not been able to effectively prevent interruption attacks in Internet of Things services. Software-oriented network (SDN) is a new architecture in the network based on the separation of the control and data plane of the network. Programmability and network management capability by SDN can be used in IoT services because some IoT devices send data periodically and in certain time intervals. SDN can help reduce or prevent the data flood caused by IoT if properly deployed in the data center. In this article, a method to detect DDoS attacks in Internet of Things based on SDN is presented and then an algorithm to reduce DDoS attacks is presented. The proposed method is based on the entropy criterion, which is one of the most important concepts in information theory and is calculated based on the characteristics of the flow. In this method, by using two new components on the controller to receive incoming packets and considering the time window and calculating entropy and flow rate, a possible attack is detected in the network, and then based on the statistics of the flow received from the switches, the certainty of the attack is determined. Compared to the existing methods, the proposed method has improved 12% in terms of attack detection time and 26% in terms of false positives/negatives. Manuscript profile

Changing employee behavior is a common challenge for many organizations. When employees deviate from expected behavior, it can be seen as a form of human behavioral entropy, making it difficult to predict their actions. Entropy is a degree of disorder in any system that increases over time according to the second law of thermodynamics. Disturbances may also occur in human behavior when human behavior goes out of stability and moves towards instability, which can be called entropy in behavior. With the appearance of entropy in the behavior of employees, it becomes difficult for managers to control their behavior and the possibility of any behavioral problems in the organization is obvious. Understanding the underlying causes of these behaviors can help prevent problems within organizations. This study is focused on developing a model to reduce employee behavioral entropy within the justice administration system. The research is qualitative in nature, with a statistical population consisting of experts with relevant experience in the field. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling. Qualitative data was collected through interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of the analysis identified background factors (economic, legal, social, political, and technological), behavioral factors (personality, professional ethics, job passion, impression management, and job satisfaction), and structural factors (structural and process, leadership, work rules and regulations, cultural and educational) as organizing categories and basic categories in the design of the model, focusing on a three-pronged approach to reducing justice administration employee behavioral entropy.
