Jalal Al Ahmad is an influential writer in Iran’s contemporary literature. There has always been a big controversy over him because of the social conditions of his time, and his own specific character. Most of his literary works are rich in references to social and historical events, so that they mirror the social and cultural context of his time. Jalal was frank in both personality and his political stance. He was not a man of hypocrisy; so was in his writings, where he appears as a careful observer of the facts. The present research is an attempt to give a picture of the social and cultural context of his time, studying Jalal’s works (with focus on his three stories: Modir-e Madrese, Noon va-l-Qalam and Nefrin-e Zamin), as well as the books and writings about him. The finding of the study has provided good evidences on how concerned Jalal was about the society and the events around him, and how well he has portrayed his personal and social life in his works. According to written sources, teaching and education in Islam was practiced in mosques and schools until the 900 A.D. gradually, from the late of 800 and early of 900 A.D, scholars began to establish Dar al-Alum and schools. From the 1000 A.D, there was a major change in the educational method in Iran and in the sovereign territories, and numerous schools were established throughout the country. This process continued during the two Ilk Hani and Teymuri periods and finally culminated in the Safavid era. The Safavid era has been introduced as a classic era in the history of Islamic Iranian schools. During this period, two important factors: the formation of a centralized Iranian state and the formal conversion of the Shiite religion paved the way for the creation of a new and dynamic educational system in a new format. The result was an increase in schools and scientific and educational facilities. This research is based on library and field research and in a descriptive-analytical and historical way, it seeks to study the impact of Safavid era schools, especially the two schools of Khan Shiraz and Chahar Bagh of Isfahan on cultural development in Iran and the Islamic world. Studies show that the schools of the Safavid era, especially the two schools of Khan Shiraz and the four gardens of Isfahan, play an important role in promoting the education and training of the Iranian youth and their special importance and presence in them. Finally, Iranian-Islamic culture has flourished. Accordingly, in the Safavid era, these schools and educational systems have contributed to the identification of the Safavid society, and the increasing expansion of educational systems in the context of the Shiite community has led to changes in social behavior and ultimately to the gradual growth and development of culture and civilization. The Islamic community of that era is gone. Manuscript profile

The wide range of legal implications of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) have made it closely linked to various child-related social institutions and activities. One of the most important institutions or social activities that most children are exposed to on a daily basis is education, which is important in examining its relationship to children's rights. Accordingly, this paper presents an interpretative model of the multiple relationship between the education system and CRC with an overview of theoretical texts and research reports in the literature on child rights and implications for evaluating school performance from the child rights perspective. According to the results of this study, there is a three-way relationship between education and children's rights: education is a child's right; school is a tool for observing children's rights; and education is a subject of children's rights monitoring. The third aspect of this relationship emphasizes the need to evaluate school performance from a child rights perspective. Among the 41 articles on CRC, the right to participate, non-discrimination, defense and litigation, protection of violence, the best interests, privacy, freedom of expression, and security are fundamental rights that can be used as criteria for assessing The school's performance is in observance of children's rights and in compliance with CRC. The present study intends to investigate the role of individual and environmental characteristics of teachers in transfer of learning in the sixth grade. A correlation method was performed to identify the relationships between variables that affect transfer of learning. The population was the sixth grade teachers in the district one and two of Ardabil City, who participated in summer training programs in school 1392-1393. Regarding the questionnaire items, 205 questionnaires were distributed randomly among the participants. Instruments including Teacher Professionalism Questionnaires, teacher self- efficacy, principal support, peer support and transfer of learning were used for data collection. Confirmatory factor analysis used to prove construct validity of the instruments. Path analysis results showed as follows: Peer support has- directly and indirectly- a positive effect on the transfer of learning as one of the school environmental factors through teacher professionalism (as a mediating variable), but the effect of this variable on teachers' self-efficacy was not significant. Also, principal support has an indirect positive effect on the transfer of learning, but the direct effect of principal support and self-efficacy on the transfer of learning was not significant. The results also shows that the transfer of learning to the workplace largely depends on teachers’ professionalism and peer support from the transferring process and the use of leanings in the classroom. The results can improve the schools’ environment and the management of personal and environmental factors, and finally can facilitate the transfer of learning. Manuscript profile

Several variables play a role in the relationship between the student and the school and affect it. This research was done with the aim of providing a model of connection with school based on identity styles and school atmosphere with the mediation of academic self-efficacy. The statistical population of the study was all 3600 first year high school students in Kangavar in the academic year 1399-1400. For this purpose, 520 students were selected by cluster sampling method and questionnaires related to Rezaei Sharif et al. (2014). School atmosphere Lee et al. (2017), Identity style Brzezinski (1992) And Academic Self-Efficacy of Jenks & Morgan (2003) Completed electronically.. After collecting data, structural equation modeling was used to test the proposed model and hypotheses. The results showed that school style and identity style have a significant and positive relationship with academic self-efficacy and connection with school. The style of school identity and atmosphere also affects the connection with the school through self-efficacy. According to the fit of the developed model, the findings show that paying attention to the variables of identity style, school style and self-efficacy can lead to an increase in school connection in students. In order to improve the connection with the school, it seems necessary to pay attention to the styles of academic self-efficacy, identity and school atmosphere. Manuscript profile

Space syntax is a set of methods and theories that study how the configuration structure of space, organization, and social behaviors interact. Examining the spatial layout is one of the basic strategies for evaluating the usages of any building. This issue is especially evident in historical buildings because the technique of space syntax and drawing justification diagrams makes it possible to analyze the spatial relationships of buildings. Shah Abbasi Caravanserai has long centuries history and has had different uses in different periods. This article examines the spatial arrangement of Shah Abbasi Caravanserai, located in Karaj, in the Safavid and Qajar periods by using the space syntax technique. Also, by considering the change of Shah Abbasi Caravanserai's use to a school in the Qajar period, it seeks to answer the main question: to what extent did the new use correspond to the spatial relations of Shah Abbasi Caravanserai? What are the advantages and disadvantages of changing this user? To answer this question, first, using the descriptive-analytical method and library studies and field surveys, the spatial arrangement of Shah Abbasi Caravanserai in the Safavid and Qajar periods has been studied. Then, drawing diagrams using the space syntax technique and analyzing them based on various influential factors was done. The research result was concluded through analyzing data and comparing the justification diagrams with school diagrams in the Qajar period, indicating that the new spatial arrangement of Shah Abbasi Caravanserai in the Qajar era was done as a result of changing the use to the school. Also, despite some disadvantages because of this change, including a lack of attention to proper access hierarchy, ventilation, and proportions, it is compatible with the spatial relationships of schools of that time to a large extent. The main purpose of this paper is to examine the historical discourse of the birth of the modern school in terms of power relations around the lives of children. The method used in this essay is Critical Discourse Analysis of Michel Foucault. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the formation of new schools is analyzed from Foucault's point of view and his commentators. According to this description, a transformation has occurred from a body-based abstinence to institutional development of child care and school development. The most important discourse developments include the advent of modern childcare practices, the concealment of punitive care around children, and ultimately the expansion of modern power over the child's soul. Then, the power relations were analyzed based on a documentary analysis of the discursive approach to childhood and education. The results show that the birth of modern school and different branches of knowledge such as child psychology and sociology that shaped educational knowledge were the result of the evolution of the underlying social, economic, and demographic policies and disciplinary technologies and did not necessarily lead to the freedom of children. Therefore, the lives of children depend on the liberation not from institutions, but from the domination systems. Manuscript profile

This article analyzes the critiques about discipline presented by the theorists of the de-schooling movement about school functions and, based on them, deals with reconstruction of school discipline and its realization. The method used for analyzing the critiques is analytical-descriptive and which is used for reconstructing is the synthetic method. The findings of study on limits of freedom and authority in schools from the perspective of critics include: freedom to realize oneself and denying authoritarianism; freedom to act in situation; accepting the authority of life structures; freedom to gain experience and knowledge; and accepting adult patronizing authority. Findings of the reconstruction phase include: attention and emphasis on student-teacher mutual responsibility; redefining the role of the teacher so as to allow two-way and free interaction with the student; providing contents and adopting methods for presenting them based on knowledge-based principles; and considering students as active and selective actors. Regarding these components and in order to achieve them, the school in this new definition should be able to select students and teachers at macro and micro levels; in other words, it should be an independent or autonomous school. Selection at the micro level, such as student and teacher selection, is not possible without selection at the macro level of the school, such as content and curriculum. Manuscript profile

The purpose of this research is to investigate the social components in primary school students. Social skills have different components and experts have different views about the components of social skills. But all experts agree on components such as empathy, cooperation, visual and auditory ability, responsibility, self-expression, problem solving, etc. In this article, the role of various institutions in the development of students' social skills has been discussed. Communicating and continuously participating in group activities is one of the issues that affects everyone's personal and social life. Education and strengthening of social relations in children can help in getting their job positions in the future. Teaching these relationships from childhood and before entering school should be given to them by parents. Children who have learned these manners before starting school can accept being separated from their parents and entering a new educational environment better than others. Of course, training parents does not reduce any of the responsibilities of teachers and teaching staff to strengthen this skill. Students who acquire social skills are usually more popular with their peers, have higher grades, and are noticed by teachers. On the other hand, the low level of social relations of children leads to isolation and long-term consequences on their mental health. For this reason, teaching these relationships to children in schools is one of the necessary things to overcome the problems they face. Manuscript profile

This article illustrates how the curricula of religious education were formed vis-a-vis social forces in the Islamic schools during the second Pahlavi reign. Utilizing historical discourse analysis and examining four schools as case studies, we argue that these encounters led to four kinds of knowledge formation: "the generalization of religious knowledge" in the schools of the Islamic Education Society, "rational verification of religious knowledge" in Alavi School, "scholarly comparison of religious knowledge" in Kamal School, and "the systematization of religious knowledge" in the Refah school. The first formation faced the foundations of other rival religious discourses by emphasizing the Qur'an, the confrontation of jurisprudence against popular religion and superstitions, and confronting civil laws to eliminate corruption and achieve progress. The second formation was shaped along with a philosophical approach in encountering with the principles of Marxism and of Baha'iism, and providing a wise religion for immunity from corruptive lifestyles and using Islamic ethics against human social laws. The third formation was shaped by looking for compromise between science and religion versus religious superstitions and the materialists, a chosen jurisprudence versus the formal jurisprudence, and the confrontation with the modern state through a militant religion. The final formation was formed by using theology against other competing discourses, designing efficient social systems versus the modern government, and self-making for providing a good environment as opposed to isolated individual life forms. According to the results of each formation, there can be four inspirations as follows: turning from the internal religious language to the general and extra-religious language, turning from the affirmative language in Muslim philosophy to the speculative language in general philosophy, turning from the necessary relationship between science and religion to a possible relationship, and turning from the absolute inclusion of morality in religion to mutual partial relationship between them.
