Introduction and goal: universities spend large sums of money and resources on scientific research which short terms results are often difficult to predict, medium term achievements are uncertain, and long term returns may prove disappointing. In a policy making view, these expenses should be justified for society that are the real investors. The goal of this paper is to investigate comparative impact of Iran’s polytechnics on industry and technology. Method: This paper use Bibliometrics methods and indicators. 17 polytechnics are evaluated based on their patent’s citations to scientific articles, innovative knowledge, technological impacts, Joint research publications with industry and number of patents in 4 patents databases including General Office of Industrial Property patent database, Us patent and EPO. Findings: Among Iran’s polytechnics and based on innovative knowledge, number of Us patents citations and University-industry research cooperation Sharif university is first. In technological impacts Isfahan University of Technology is first and this university is jointly first with K.N.Toosi University of Technology based on PCT patents. Amirkabir University based on intramural patents is in first place. Iran’s polytechnics haven’t good position relative to world class universities. Manuscript profile

The main objective of this paper is employing main components of technology management to analyze and evaluate ICT sector situation in Iran compared with 35 selected countries. To this end, a conceptual model for technology management in ICT sector has been developed. Then a set of appropriate indicators have been determined and classified by expert panelists to measure core components and supportive components of proposed conceptual model. Considering proposed conceptual model and selected indicators, the cross section data was collected for 35 selected countries from official and widely accepted international reports and datasets such as WDI, ITU, etc. Finally, technology management components in ICT sector of Iran have been compared with 34 selected countries in terms of policy-making issues, facilitating innovation, research and development activities, human resources training, financial support, entrepreneurship enhancement and technology diffusion. With the advent of growing knowledge of the economy and the rapid growth of technology, intellectual property has become the focus of attention of corporate investment managers and researchers. Patent are considered to be the most important intellectual asset, and one of the reasons for this is the extensive research that has been done on the various dimensions of these rights. The patent provides the possessor with the possibility to use the technology exclusively for a limited period (often twenty years). Since many industrial and service companies need to acquire new technologies by the purchase of patent rights to maintain their competitive advantage and sustained business growth, the issue of patent assessment has become a serious challenge in the field of technology. In this research, a model for evaluating and ranking patents based on multi-criteria programming methods is presented and then the resulting model is implemented in a cell phone company. The company is required to choose a technology from four technologies: (1) a dual display, (2) missing phone tracking, (3) wireless communications security, and (4) remote banking to develop its products. The implementation of the model is based on four main criteria: (1) the essence of technology, (2) the cost of technology, (3) the product market, and (4) the technology market in the company led to the choice of wireless security technology. Also the accuracy of the result obtained from the implementation of the research model has been confirmed by the method of ELECTRE. Manuscript profile

Complex products and systems (CoPS) are products, systems, services and infrastructure assets that are costly and require advanced technology and are known as capital goods. The technological complexity of CoPS is an important competitive advantage, for companies and even governments. As these products are customized, the development of them is considered as projects. In compare to common projects, the difference in the nature of the CoPS products has led to some differences in managing them. In this study, we are going to explore the differences in the CoPS projects and how they are managed by exploring the comprehensive CoPs literature review from the project management perspective. In the initial search, 84 papers were identified. After studying abstracts, the number of related articles was reduced to 22. After studying articles, we classified them and examined how to managed CoPS projects. According to the results, managing CoPS projects are diffrent from some aspects such as integration management, communication management, scope management, project planning and control, time and cost management, risk management and stakeholder management in compared to common projects. Organizations should consider these differences in managing CoPS projects. The results also indicate that the number of studies carried out on CoPS projects is not very high, especially in Iran. The most important identified gap research is the lack of applied studies in various industries, including communications, defense industries, and so on. Manuscript profile

The emergence of the knowledge-based economy and, as a result, the increase in the importance of categories such as knowledge, innovation, and technology has increased the focus on concepts such as knowledge management, technology management, and innovation management. This article examines the existing articles and the researches that have been done in relation to the integration of the three areas of knowledge management, innovation and technology, in order to provide a conceptual model for integrating these three areas, which while covering the characteristics of each of these managements, from waste Organizational resources resulting from the overlapping of knowledge management, innovation and technology and their confrontation with each other should be prevented. First, a systematic literature review was conducted in which a wide range of related articles were searched from 1980 to 2021. Then, metacombination method was used to code the findings from previous researches and combine them with each other. At this stage, Perish and MAXQDA software were used for coding. In this study, more than 220 codes were assigned to data units. Then 220 codes were analyzed and similar codes were aggregated. Finally, 24 codes were obtained which were called basic codes. In the next stage, the basic themes of classification and the following five organizing themes were extracted: the principles of innovation-knowledge management, the enablers of innovation-knowledge management, the routine and creation of a culture of integration, the infrastructure of integration, the mechanisms of integration. Finally, a conceptual model is proposed that explains the relationship between these areas and how they interact and overlap, and solutions to integrate them Manuscript profile
