Gardening tradition in the geographical area of Iran has included valuable types of gardens such as fruit garden, river garden, organic garden etc over past centuries. However, despite having unique features, because of the lack of compliance to the prevalent pattern of the Iranian Garden, these gardens have been relatively less studied and recognized. Khan garden in Shushtar, adjacent to the historic water canal of Gargar, is a remarkable example of such types of Iranian gardening since its unique context contains considerable features of gardening that are very unusual among other types of Iranian gardens. Accordingly, this research will try to study and recognize constructive components and elements of Khan garden through a qualitative approach and using the descriptive-analytical research method. In order to recognize and document information related to Khan garden like natural, historical and morphological data, the research applies the cataloguing technique. The required data are primarily collected through biblio sources such as historical accounts, archival documents, maps, aerial images. Also, field survey and oral interviews in the process of data collecting are employed. Based on research findings, the Khan garden should be perceived as a river garden and structurally could be classified as a uni-axial garden. However, since the specific context of the garden’s position, that axe has been placed on an indirect extension that affects constructive systems of the garden and provides an irregular and organic structure for that. Furthermore, according to other findings, agricultural activities, cultural influences of Qajar time, and surrounding characteristics have been the most significant factors in shaping the structural pattern of the Khan garden. Irrigation networks are responsible for the distribution and delivery of agricultural water, so improving their performance reduces losses and increases the efficiency of water distribution, and thus leads to improved water efficiency. Investigating the operation of irrigation networks is essential for planning and improving irrigation networks and systems. The first purpose of the assessment is to determine the amount of losses that occur in the process of distribution and delivery of agricultural water in the network of irrigation canals. Losses in agricultural water conveyance and distribution systems occur for two main reasons: leakage and improper performance of canal structures that cause operating losses. Various factors such as weed growth in canals, accumulation of sediment in canals, accumulation of garbage in canals, cracking of canal cover, crushing or moving of concrete parts in canals, destruction due to poor quality of materials and lack of sufficient knowledge of total operation and the wisdom of the country's water decision-makers is increasing losses in agricultural distribution and delivery systems. Factors influencing the operation of networks include regular annual maintenance process and the operation of network operators to timely and correctly adjust the catchment structures to prevent unstable hydraulic conditions in the main and secondary channels, which can be invested in training operators and teams. Management and operation in irrigation networks significantly reduced the volume of operation losses. In this study, the results of studies on the determination of conveyance and distribution efficiencies in irrigation networks have been reviewed and summarized. Manuscript profile

Multicarrier phase coded signals have been recently introduced to achieve high range resolution in radar systems. As single carrier phase coded radars, the common method for compression of these signals, is using matched filter or computing the auto correlation function directly. In this paper we propose a new method based on fast Fourier transform (FFT) with lower computational load with respect to traditional approach. Furthermore, based on this new approach, a method for estimation of communication channel is introduced that can be used for improving detection performance and target position estimation in tracking mode. In this paper a sequential algorithm is proposed for joint blind channel equalization and decoding for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) in frequency selective channels. This algorithm offers a recursive method to sequentially calculate the posterior probability for maximum a posteriori (MAP) detection. Recursive calculations are done along the indexes in each OFDM symbol using a particle filter. By defining an appropriate importance function, and a proper prior probability distribution function for the channel tap coefficients (and marginalizing it), an efficient method is presented for joint equalization and channel decoding in OFDM based systems. Performance of the proposed detector is evaluated using computer simulations and its bit error rate is compared with the trained turbo equalizer and a conventional particle filter-based method. The results show that the proposed method outperforms the previously presented particle filter-based method without a need for training data. Manuscript profile

Spatial Modulation(SM) is a novel method in use of multiple antenna systems. The main idea is based on information block mapping into two carrying units: a transmit symbol unit that is chosen from constellation members and second unit is the number of active antenna that shows the position of transmit antenna. The use of active antenna position as an extra source of transmit data increases the bandwidth efficiency. Also it doesn't have inter-antenna interference (IAI) and inter-channel interference (ICI) and it's caused to decrease the complexity in receiver side. So SM is a competitor in multiple antenna systems like V-BLAST and space-time coding. More recently generalized spatial modulation (GSM) is presented that use some active antennas instead an active antenna. When the symbol is sent from multiple antennas, it'll get a diversity gain. In this paper we show that by using different channel coding in GSM we can improve bit error rate (BER) without decrease in bandwidth efficiency between 15-40 percent. Manuscript profile

A new structure named as source/drain sides-double recessed gate with N-buried layer in the channel (SDS-DRG) silicon carbide (SiC) based metal semiconductor field effect transistor (MESFET) is presented in this study. Important parameters such as short channel effect, maximum DC trans-conductance, drain current and breakdown voltage of the proposed structure are simulated and compared with those of the source side-double recessed gate (SS-DRG) and drain side-double recessed gate (DS-DRG) 4H-SiC MESFETs. Our simulation results reveal that reducing the channel thickness under the gate at the SDS-DRG structure improves the maximum DC trans-conductance and reduces the short channel effects compared to SS-DRG and DS-DRG structures. Reducing the channel thickness under the gate at the drain side of the SDS-DRG structure is used to enhance the breakdown voltage in comparison with the SS-DRG structure. Also, N-buried layer with larger doping concentration in the SDS-DRG structure improves the saturated drain current compared to SS-DRG and DS-DRG structures.‏ Manuscript profile

One of the most important applications of wireless sensor networks was to estimate the unknown phenomenon. The cooperative activities of wireless sensors and scattered information of sensor nodes over network are used to decentralized estimation. Precoder design done on the sensor nodes in order to provide an optimal estimate of the actual amount. Precoder design is an optimization problem. Since the channel is wireless link on the wireless sensor networks. Therefore, assuming the access of full channel state information isn't correct in this network. Since the perfect channel state information is required in the precoder design process, so the effects of the channel estimation investigated on precoder design process. On the issue of channel estimation, channel estimated by using of the known training sequence method with LS and MMSE criteria. Since power restriction is the key subject in the wireless sensor networks, therefore in this study power restriction considered in the channel estimation and precoder design problem. In urban areas, wireless communications suffer from severe fading due to reflections and diffraction of waves from buildings and mobility of receivers. Hence, in design of wireless networks, we need a model to predict propagation channels, in order to determine communication methods between transmitters and receivers. Most of current mobile wireless communication models are based on measurements. In this paper, we want to introduce a new statistical physical model in which buildings are considered as a fixed part of the model and the phenomena of diffraction and reflection are modeled using the uniform theory of diffraction (UTD).On the other hand, the receiver in this model is considered as a car. The position of this car is predicted using the Poisson point process (PPP). We can predict channel capacity in urban areas, taking into account the density of traffic and urban traffic by using this model. Furthermore, in order to validate the proposed model, we compared the results of this model with a statistical model based on measurements and there is a good agreement between them. The abundant benefits of Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and its high flexibility have resulted in its widespread applications in many telecommunication standards. One important parameter for improving wireless system’s efficiency is the accurate estimation of channel state information (CSI). In the literatures many techniques have been studied in order to estimate the CSI. Nowadays, the techniques based on intelligent algorithms such as genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) have attracted attention of researchers. With a very low pilot overhead, these techniques are able to estimate the channel frequency response (CFR) properly only using the received signals. Unfortunately each of these techniques suffers a common weakness: they have a slow convergence rate. In this paper, a new intelligent and different method has been presented for channel estimation using gravitational search algorithm (GSA). This method can achieve accurate channel estimation with a moderate computational complexity in comparison with GA and PSO estimators. Furthermore, with higher convergence rate our proposed method is capable of providing the same performance as GA and PSO. For a two-path fast fading channel, simulation results demonstrate the robustness of our proposed scheme according to the bit error rate (BER) and the mean square error (MSE). Manuscript profile

Phase locked loops (PLL) are widely used in telecommunication systems. Frequency characteristics and settling time are the two most important features of PLLs. In phase lock loops, several nonlinear factors can be considered, one of which is the nonlinear behavior of the phase detector. In fact, load pump phase locking loops (CPPLL) are nonlinear systems due to the nonlinear behavior generated by the load pump. Although the applied current is fixed in an ideal load pump, this is not fixed in practice because of the non-ideal behavior of the transistors. In this paper, considering the channel length modulation (CLM) effect caused by the drain-source voltage of MOSFET transistor, a more accurate model is presented for the phase detector. By investigating the non-linear differential equation dominating the system and using the step-response approximation for the transient time analysis, new equations are obtained for the settling time and overshooting. In order to check the validity of the specified non-linear equations, the simulation was conducted in MATLAB Simulink. Moreover, in order to better assess the proposed method, the performance of a PLL subjected to the transistor’s drain-source voltage has been simulated and the effect of the different loop parameters, such as the loop’s resistor and current has been investigated. The final results showed the appropriate accordance of the analytical equations with the simulation results. Manuscript profile

Channels are one of the most important stratigraphic and morphological events. If channels place in a suitable position such as enclosed in impermeable place can make suitable oil and gas reservoir; So identifying channels are crucial. Different tools such as filters, seismic attributes, artificial neural networks, and meta-attributes have played an important role in this regard. In this paper dip-steering cube, dip-steer median filter, dip-steer diffusion filter, and fault enhancement filter, have been used. Then, various seismic attributes such as similarity, texture, spectral decomposition, energy and polar dip have been defined and studied. Therefore, work on F3 real seismic data of Dutch part of the North sea for detecting channels has been started by detecting suitable attributes. For identifying the channel in data, it has been used from compilation and combination of seismic attributes using supervised ANN (multi-layer perceptron), and development of mata-attributes, then recombine meta-attributes created along the channel, and using different interpretation point, for eliminating the impact of facies and lithology changes along the channel. Among the advantages and the reasons for using this kind of neural network (supervised), which increases the effect of the neural network and improves the result, is the ability to train the network by specifying the channel and non-channel points used in this paper. Finally, using the above methods, the identification of the channel examined in the above seismic data has been improved, and the channel has been properly detected and extracted throughout its entire length. Injuries of the birth canal in cows (perineal lacerations, fistula…) cause significant economic loss in dairy herds. These injuries usually are associated with obstetric trauma during labor. Third degree perineal lacerations and fistula formation usually happen because of dystocia, improper repairs, abscesses and forced extractions and lead to fecal contamination of the birth canal and reduced fertility. The main reason for the birth canal and external part of the reproductive tract surgery is to restore fertility of the animal and repair the injuries associated with dystocia. In this review the causes, management, and treatment of these disorders by emphasizing on the importance of birth canal injuries in cows were discussed. Manuscript profile

This paper addresses the problem of distributed detection of stochastic sparse signals in a wireless sensor network. Observations/local likelihood ratios in each sensor node are quantized into 1-bit and sent to a fusion center (FC) through non-ideal channels. At the FC, we propose two sub-optimal detectors after that the data are fused based on the locally most powerful test (LMPT). We obtain the quantization threshold for each sensor node via an asymptotic analysis of the performance of the detector. It is realized that the quantization threshold depends on the bit error probability of the channels between the sensor nodes and the FC. Simulation results are carried out to confirm our theoretical analysis and to depict the performance of the proposed detectors. Manuscript profile

Variations in telecommunication channels is a challenge of the wireless communication which makes the channel estimation and equalization a noteworthy issue. In OFDM systems, some subcarriers can be considered as pilots for channel estimation. In the pilot-aided channel estimation procedure, interpolation is an essential step to achieve channel response in data subcarriers. Choosing the best interpolation method has been the subject of various researches, because there is no interpolator as the best method in all conditions, and their performance depends on the fading model, signal-to-noise ratio and pilot overhead ratio. In this paper, the effect of different interpolation methods on the quality of DVB-T2 broadcast links is evaluated. A simulation platform is prepared in which different channel models are defined according to the real-world measurements. The interpolation is performed by five widely-used methods (nearest neighbor, linear, cubic, spline, and Makima) for different pilot ratios. After channel equalization by the results of the interpolator, the bit error rate is calculated as the main criterion for evaluation and comparison. The rules of selecting the appropriate interpolator in different conditions is presented. It is generally concluded that for fading scenarios close to flat fading or high pilot overhead ratio, the simple interpolators such as linear interpolator are proper choices. But in harsh conditions, i.e. severe frequency-selective fading channels or low pilot overhead ratio, the more complicated interpolators such as cubic and spline methods yield better results. The amount of improvements and differences are quantified in this study. Manuscript profile
