Abstract :
The present research aims to identify the drivers, obstacles, and consequences of the digital transformation strategy in Iran's road freight transportation industry, focusing on the Internet of Things and data analytics. For this purpose, after reviewing the literature, primary indicators were identified, and a framework was extracted for conducting semi-structured interviews with experts in this field. Interviews were conducted with 20 academic experts and road freight transportation industry experts in Iran, who were selected using the purposive sampling method and the saturation principle. In the quantitative part, a researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect the opinions of 170 employees of this industry, who were selected using Cochran's formula and the stratified sampling method. The reliability and validity of the interview and questionnaire were checked and confirmed. The Delphi technique, literature review, and coding were used for data analysis in the qualitative part, and inferential statistics, as well as SPSS and SmartPLS software, were used in the quantitative part. Finally, 4 driving indicators, 18 indicators in 5 categories of obstacles, and 58 indicators in 7 categories of consequences were extracted and prioritized using Lisrel software and factor analysis. The results of this research show many positive consequences for both the companies and the relevant industry, which confirm the necessity of the digital transformation strategy in the industry and the role of the government and the managers of the established companies in the industry.
