  The term suburbanization in developing countries refers to slums. Poverty is the main cause of suburbanization. Use the services and facilities of the city. The formation of suburbanization in the city of Ilam dates back to the year 3 and they are mainly formed in the southern and southeastern part of the city. Among the suburbs of Ilam, we can mention Sabziabad, Banbur and Banbarz neighborhoods. The main consequences are the spread of social harms, the expansion of the city in low and unsuitable lands and the destruction of agricultural lands. The purpose of this study is to investigate marginalization in Ilam city and provide executive strategies to deal with this phenomenon. . In this research, the documentary-library method has been used and first defines marginalization and then examines the factors related to this phenomenon in the city of Ilam. Finally, solutions to prevent and intensify this phenomenon are proposed. Manuscript profile
