Examination of mental health and social intelligence in male and female elementary school students in Kerman city

Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to investigate the mental health and social intelligence of male and female elementary school students in Kerman city in 1400. The current research is descriptive and causal-comparative. The statistical population in this research includes two groups of female and male elementary school students in Kerman city, from which 80 people (40 girls, 40 boys) were selected by simple random sampling. The tools used in this research included the Tromso Social Intelligence Questionnaire and the Mental Health Questionnaire. Statistical methods (independent t-test, multiple regression analysis) were used to analyze the data. The results of the research showed that there is a significant difference between male and female elementary school students in Kerman city in all dimensions of social intelligence as well as the total score (P<0.05). Social intelligence can significantly predict the level of mental health in male and female elementary school students of Kerman only in the dimension of social information processing (P<0.05).
