Investigation of mental health and social intelligence among primary teachers in Yasouj city

Abstract :
The purpose of the present research is to compare mental health and social intelligence among elementary school teachers in Yasouj city. The current research is descriptive and causal-comparative. The statistical population in this research includes elementary school teachers who lived in Yasouj city, from whom 60 people (30 women, 30 obsessive-compulsive patients) were selected by simple random sampling. The tools used in this research included the Tromso Social Intelligence Questionnaire and the Mental Health Questionnaire. Statistical methods (independent t-test, multiple regression analysis) were used to analyze the data. The results of the research showed that there is a significant difference in all dimensions of social intelligence as well as the total score (P<0.05). There is a significant difference in all dimensions of mental health as well as the total score (P<0.05). Social intelligence can significantly predict mental health in the dimension of social information processing in the group of teachers (P<0.05).
