Abstract :
The responsibility of raising children is on the shoulders of mothers both in terms of priority (quality of influence) and precedence. In all theories of growth, mothers have been mentioned as having the most influence on child. Hence, this research tries to answer questions like: How does the psychology of quality consider the influence of mother on child? How do the Quran and Hadiths describe the role of mothers and their influence on children? What are the points shared between Islamic teachings and physiology on this subject? The findings of this research indicate that psychologists like Bowlby attach importance to the role of mother after the birth while Islam considers the upbringing of children beginning with the selection of spouse, then pregnancy and then birth. In both views, the characteristics of the mother play a significant role in shaping the child’s personal and social character. Father’s role is also important, both in raising the child and, indirectly, in influencing the mother’s mental health.
