Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between perfectionism and emotional adjustment with mediating role of motivational beliefs among high school students. For this purpose, 341 students(141 male and 200 female) were selected by using multi-stage cluster sampling. Procedure students completed the Multidimensional Perfectionism Questionnaire(Frost et al, 1990), High School Student Adjustment Questionnaire (Sinha & Sing,1993) and. Motivational Self–Regulated Learning Questionnaire (Pintrich & De grout, 1999). Path analysis was the major statistical operation run in the study. The results of path analysis showed that organization, personal standards and doubts about actions and concern over mistake predicted emotional adjustment directly and indirectly with mediating role of test anxiety. In sum, results showed that test anxiety plays a mediation role between perfectionism dimensions and emotional adjustment appropriately. Based on the finding, in order to increase level of emotional adjustment in perfectionism people it would seem useful to intervene by decreased test anxiety.
