        The present study examined the mediating role of self-compassion between personality traits and academic buoyancy. The participants were 310 students (169 girls and 141 boys) from Shiraz University selected by multistage random cluster sampling method. The participants completed three measures: Academic Buoyancy Scale, Self-Compassion Scale (2003) and Big-Five Factor Personality Inventory. Cronbach alpha coefficient was used for examining the reliability of the scales. To determine the validity, internal consistency and factor analysis were applied. The results indicated that the model had a good fitness with the data. There were direct effects of extroversion, neuroticism, agreeableness, openness to experience on self-compassion. Overall, results showed that self-compassion could be regarded as mediator between personality traits and academic buoyancy. Manuscript profile

        In the present study, the mediating role of self-compassion in the relationship between perfectionism and eudaimonic well-being was investigated. To do so, 210 Master students from Shiraz University were selected through multistage random cluster sampling method. Participants answered to Almost-Perfect-Scale-Revised, (Slaney et al, 2001), Self-Compassion Scale (Neff, 2003), and Eudaimonic Well-being Scale (Waterman et al, 2010). Data were analyzed using path analysis through Amos software. Results showed that standard component (as adaptive perfectionism) has a positive effect, and discrepancy component (as maladaptive perfectionism) has a negative effect on eudaimonic well-being. Self-compassion showed a mediating role in the relationship between discrepancy component of perfectionism and eudaimonic well-being. In the base of these results, self-compassion can be considered as a buffer against the negative impact of maladaptive perfectionism on eudaimonic well-being. Manuscript profile

        Based on the transdiagnostic approach, various variables have been introduced and found, however, their relationships and interactions are still questionable. The four important and effective transdiagnostic factors introduced in researches are emotion regulation, experiential avoidance, intolerance of uncertainty, and self-compassion. The aim of the present study was to investigate the mediating role of experiential avoidance and intolerance of uncertainty in the relationship between self-compassion, and emotion regulation difficulties in students. This research was in the form of modeling of various correlation methods. For this purpose, 405 students of Shiraz University present in the second semester of 2018-2019 year were enrolled by multistage cluster random sampling. Participants, then, completed the Short Form of Self-Compassion Scale (SCS-SF), the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire–II (AAQ-II), the Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale (IUS), and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS). Data analysis was performed by structural equation modeling, using AMOS software. The path analysis method showed that self-compassion predicted emotion regulation both directly and indirectly through intolerance of uncertainty and experiential avoidance. Therefore, it can be concluded that self-compassion enables individuals for confrontation to their experience and enhance uncertainty tolerance to help them manage their emotions. Accordingly it is important to pay attention to the changes of these two variables in self-compassion-based interventions to regulate and manage emotions. Manuscript profile

        This study aimed to investigate the relationship between self-compassion and body management in women. The present study was descriptive and correlational. The study's statistical population consisted of all women in Shiraz in 2021. Among them, 300 women were selected from the statistical population by available sampling method as the sample size. Data were collected using Self-Compassion Questionnaire (Reiss, Puminer, Neff, and Wanguchta (2011) (SCS-SF)) and Online Object Awareness Questionnaire (McKinley and Hyde (2001)). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis and SPSS statistical software. Findings from Pearson correlation analysis, related to examining the significant relationship between self-compassion and changes in body management in women, showed a significant negative relationship between the components, including self-kindness, self-judgment, human sharing, isolation, mindfulness, extreme assimilation, and changes in body management. The present study results emphasize the role and importance of self-compassion in dealing with behaviors related to body management. Cultivating a compassionate mind can control the negative behavioral consequences associated with maladaptive body management, which can have many practical implications for women. Manuscript profile

        The present study aims at exploring the effectiveness and continuity of the effect of self-compassion intervention on the impulsivity of students who have experienced a romantic breakup. We used a semi-experimental research design with pre-test, post-test, and one-month follow-up with a control group. The population includes all the students who were studying at 98-99 in Shiraz universities. We selected 27 students (12 in the experimental and 15 in the control group) by convenience sampling, in accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria. To gather the data, Neff’s Self-Compassion Scale and Barratt Impulsiveness Scale were used. In the experimental group, Neff’s self-compassion intervention was conducted (in eight sixty-minute sessions), but there was no intervention in the control group. Finally, the data were analyzed by repeated measure analysis of variance. Results demonstrated that self-compassion intervention was effective in decreasing impulsivity in the students who have experienced romantic breakups; the effectiveness also continued in the one-month follow-up. Self-compassion could decrease impulsivity by reducing the unpleasant feeling stemming from falling the self-worth and self-esteem occurring after a romantic breakup. It also decreases impulsivity by increasing self-awareness and self-control. Manuscript profile

        Due to the high rate of self-injury in adolescents in 2022 and its destructive effect, the present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of dialectical behavior therapy on self-criticism and self-compassion of adolescents with a history of self-injury behaviors. The design of the present study is a single-subject experiment with several baselines. The target population was girls who were referred to education centers in 2021. As sample, 3 female adolescents in Shiraz with a history of self-injury behaviors were selected by purposive sampling. Research tools included inventory of statements about self-injury (ISAS) of Klonsky and Glenn (2009), self-criticism questionnaires (FSCRS) of Gilbert et al (2004), Neff) Self-compassion questionnaires (SCS) (2003), and structured clinical interviews for personality disorders (SCID-5 PD) (2014). Each person was randomly assigned to the baseline stage over a period of two, three, or four weeks. Adolescents then received 16 sessions of treatment and also their parents received 5 sessions of therapy and after one month a follow-up was carried out. Dialectical behavior therapy was effective in reducing self-criticism and increasing self-compassion in all three clients after treatment, but the stability of the treatment effect remained only for the first and second clients whose parents involved in therapy regularly. It seems that the application of dialectical behavior therapy skills with the cooperation and support of parents can be associated with a decrease in self-criticism and increased self-compassion in female adolescents with a history of self-injury behaviors.         This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of mindfulness training on the Self-Compassion and Vitality in mothers with children with learning disabilities. Based on purpose the research was applied with a semi-experimental design with pre-test, and post-test. The statistical population of the study was mothers of children with learning disabilities in Tehran in the first six months of 1400. The sample consisted of 30 mothers who were selected as the final sample by purposive sampling method and were randomly divided into two groups of experiments and control (each Group with 15 mothers). Self-compassion scale (Neff, 2003) and vitality Ryan and Frederick (1997) was used. The experimental group received ten sessions of mindfulness traning and the control group got no training. The results of covariance analysis showed that the Self-Compassion and Vitality were significantly different in the experimental group. So mindfulness training can be used as an effective way to improve Self-Compassion and Vitality in mothers with children with learning disabilities. Manuscript profile

        Social anxiety disorder refers to an overt and persistent fear of social or functional situations. Self-concept can play a significant role in explaining social anxiety. This study aimed to determine the mediating role of self-compassion in the relationship between self-concept and social anxiety of female students of the Isfahan University of Technology. The present study indicated a correlation scheme and the method of structural equations was used based on the partial least squares approach. A sample of 300 female students from the Isfahan University of Technology was selected by voluntary sampling method. The Nef Self-Compassion Scale, Beck, et al.'s (1990) Self-Esteem Scale, and Connor et al.'s (2000) Social Anxiety Inventory were used to collect data. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software version 25 and AMOS version 22. The results showed that compassion reduces social anxiety by 22.3% of the path between self-concept and social anxiety. In addition, self-compassion has a minor mediating role in the relationship between self-concept and social anxiety (p <0.05). Self-compassion has a minor mediating role in the social anxiety of female students (p <0.05). Self-concept has a negative effect on students' social anxiety (p <0.05). Finally, the importance of self-concept in explaining social anxiety and self-compassion has a mediating role between self-concept and social anxiety. Manuscript profile

        <p>One of the major challenges in modern societies caused by the industrial lifestyle is inefficient evaluations when facing challenges and tensions, leading to stress. Therefore, identifying stress-inducing factors in various diseases is clinically significant. This study aimed to examine the relationship between cognitive evaluation, self-compassion, and stress habits among women with multiple sclerosis (MS). It is a cross-sectional applied study categorized as descriptive-correlational research. The participants consisted of 130 women with MS. Data analysis was performed using regression tests and SPSS software. Data were collected using the Self-Compassion Questionnaire, the standard Kooadrun stress measurement, and the Gross and John cognitive evaluation test. Variables such as stress habits, cognitive evaluation, and self-compassion significantly influenced the regression equation (p&le;0.01), explaining 43.5% of the variance in stress habits. The prediction of stress habits based on a lack of self-kindness showed a direct relationship with a beta coefficient of 0.637. Additionally, self-kindness was positively related to stress habits, while self-compassion showed a negative significant relationship at the 0.01 level. Cognitive evaluation and its dimensions were also significant at the 0.05 level. It is recommended to implement compassion-based therapies, emotional management training, mindfulness exercises, relaxation techniques, identification of negative automatic thoughts, replacement with positive thoughts, and social support networks effective in stress management and emotional regulation training in cognitive evaluations to control stress among people with MS.</p> Manuscript profile
