        The first step to achieve sustainable rural development is to identify its capabilities, barriers and challenges. One of the existing potentials at the local level in rural areas of the country is the capacity to develop tourism activities, which is of particular importance. Today, one of the ways to save villages from poverty, migration, social and economic problems is to develop tourism in areas prone to rural tourism. Currently, the tourism industry is one of the important sources of production, income, employment and infrastructure for achieving sustainable development. Rural tourism is a new trend in the tourism industry. The present article aims to identify the potentials and limitations of rural tourism development and strategies and strategies for tourism development in rural areas. Problems of tourism development in rural areas of Boyer-Ahmad city. The research method is descriptive-analytical of survey and library studies. The statistical population consists of villages with tourism potential of this city. Results and Findings The research shows that the ability to attract tourists to rural areas of the city is very high and requires the presentation of appropriate policies by implementing organizations to eliminate restrictions and use existing potentials and capabilities.
