University Entrepreneur Fear and hope in knowledge-based economy

Universities during the transition period itself. World wide socio-economic developments have profound influences and pressures on higher education has increased exponentially. In the meantime, the university is expected that the new responsibilities as regional economic and social development, public budget cuts, and getting students embraced the skills, entrepreneurial behavior and pursue commercialization of research and Spin-off academic firms. Otherwise, like any organism that does not understand their changing environment and ecology, can lose their survival. The new role of the university is well-known function that is causing fear and hope. The present review addresses these concerns and hopes, for the purpose, is a type of applied research. In terms of data collection, the type of qualitative research, and research library (a kind of meta-synthesis of secondary studies) using information resources in the field of entrepreneurship and technology transfer from academic databases is provided. Data analysis occurred in three phases: review of the literature Summarizing and final mix and aggregate fear and hope. Article concludes despite concerns about the changing role of universities in a knowledge economy, hopes is more and also recent developments reflects fast toward entrepreneurial approach to commercialization of academic research achievements.
