The effectiveness of treatment based on acceptance and commitment on death anxiety, pain catastrophizing and coping strategies in women with breast cancer

Abstract :
Introduction and purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of acceptanc and commitment therapy on death anxiety, pain catastrophizing and coping strategies in women with breast cancer.
Methods: This research waz a semi-experimental type with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group.The statistical population of this research included women suffering from breast cancer who referred to the charity center of Imam Reza (AS) located in Mobarake city in 2023.From the mentioned statistical population, 40 people were randomly selected according to Delavar”s proposal (2013) for the research and were plased in two experimental and control groups.The experimental groups did not reseive any treatment during this period.
Tools: The Research tools in this research were Bund acceptanctance and action questionnaire, Temler”s death anxiety questionnaire, Sullivan”s pain catastrophizing questionnaire and Rosensteinl-kief”s pain coping strategies questionnaire, which the subjects of both groups completed in two stages. Then the data obtained from the mentioned questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS-26 software and multivariate covariance analysis.
Results: The results of the data from the research showed that the treatment based on acceptanc and commitment has an effect on death anxiety , pain catastrophizing and coping strategies in women with breast cancer (r<0.0001).
Conclusion: According to obtained results, it can be said that treatment baced on acceptance and commitment reduce death anxiety and pain catastrophizing , as well as increasing pain coping strategies in women with breast cancer .
