Abstract :
Zakat (alms) is one of the wājib (mandatory) duties in Islam, which is referred to in 32 Quranic verses and many narrations of the Infallibles (PBUT). Salat (Prayer) is one of the mandatory duties and five pillars in the Islamic faith, which is also known as namāz in the Persian language. The importance of prayer in Islam is due to establishing a heartfelt relationship with God, which is known as the act of heart. It should be noted that in 27 verses of the mentioned 32 Quranic verses, the term Zakat (alms) is used with prayer, indicating the affinity between Zakat (alms) and prayer. This study investigated the Verse of Wilayah in Tafsir ibn Kathir, which alludes to the giving of Zakat (alms) to the poor by Imam Ali (PBUH) while he was in rukuʿ (bowing) during his prayer. The purpose was to resolve the doubts regarding the act of heart in the prayer and its relationship with Zakat (alms) and elucidate if alms-giving during the prayer is against the act of heart or not.
