Comparison of Milon's psychopathology profile among Tattooed and Non-tattooed Adults in Mahabad city

Abstract :
The aim of study was to compare Milon's psychopathology profile among Tattooed and Non-tattooed Adults Mahabad city. The study was a causal-comparative and the statistical population consisted of all people aged 18 to 40 Mahabad city in 2023 with Tattooed and Non-tattooed. The statistical sample consisted 200 people (100 Tattooed and 100 Non-tattooed) who were selected using the available sampling method and answered the Millon 3 Inventory. Multivariate analysis of variance and SPSS software were used to analyze. Analysis showed that, there was a significant difference between the psychopathology scores of the two groups, and the average scores of the tattooed group were higher than those of the non-tattooed group. These significant differences in clinical personality patterns related to schizoid, antisocial personality , bullying (p<0.01), avoidance, dramatic personality, narcissistic personality , negativity (p<0.05). In the severe personality damage, there was a significant difference in scores related to borderline personality (p<0.05). In the clinical symptom, significant differences were found in scores related to depression mood, alcohol consumption, substance use, post-traumatic stress ( p< 0.01), anxiety disorder, physicalization, manic( p< 0.05).The difference in scores severe clinical symptoms related to thinking; Major depression and delusional (p<0.01). It can be said that tattoos are associated with the possibility of engaging in risky behaviors and the occurrence of a number of disorders, therefore, as a negative warning, they can have a significant impact on informing those around the individual and society.
