Abstract :
The Islamic culture is a set of beliefs, values, and commandments on what should or shouldn’t be done that have their roots in the Quran and Etrat (narrations from the Infallibles). The general principles and criteria of the Islamic culture have been mostly presented in the Quran and their details have been clarified by the Infallibles (AS). The Islamic culture, which revolves around the principle of being divine and is based on the Quran’s commandments and the teachings of the Infallibles (AS), determines the direction of all aspects of life, whose ultimate objective is personal and social elevation. In view of the Quran, the personal criteria of the Islamic culture in practical and behavioral approaches define the direction of personal and social life so that they not only provide spiritual health at the personal level, but also affect social health. The social criteria of the Islamic culture are the link between the individual and the society, and social peace is obtained through institutionalization of the criteria of the Quranic culture. This paper has sought to define the concept of Islamic culture and investigate its criteria through a descriptive-analytical method. It has concluded that the Islamic culture, revolving around the important basis of being divine, defines the direction of all aspects in personal and social life and, by presenting special approaches and factors, paves the ground for the salvation of the individual and society, whose outcome is personal and social health.
