In this order, industrial and developed countries to preserve their current position, or to advance themselves on the scene of global competition, in research investments, while developing countries have understood that for fundamental solution to their social and economic problems and real development, they have no other choice of increasing their research investments. In Iran, attention to research has noticeably extended in recent decade. Development of graduate studies in universities especially in PhD level led to the rapid rise and dramatic science production in the fields of basic and applied science. Development of technologies which are necessary for converting science to production, can’t be achieved by research activities in graduate level in universities. Thus, main aims of research centers established in universities are for practical and professional research for developing technologies. A regular and continuous performance evaluation for these research centers is needed for considering their aims with useful and effective indexes. In this article, a new model is designed for performance evaluation of research centers, and as a case study the model is used for the performance evaluation of some research centers in Amirkabir University of Technology. One of It ‘s results can determine research centers activities orientation and university uses for more support of research centers that are active more than others. . Some of research centers are weak in performance rank,is studied and university must take necessary action for solving of their problems. امروزه همه کشورها در تلاشند تا بر حجم سرمایه گذاری های تحقیقاتی خود بیفزایند. در این میان کشورهای صنعتی و توسعه یافته برای حفظ موقعیت خود و یا افزایش برتری خویش در صحنه های رقابت بین المللی در تحقیقات سرمایه گذاری می کنند و کشورهای در حال توسعه نیز دریافته اند که برای رفع اصولی مسائل و مشکلات اقتصادی و اجتماعی خود و رسیدن به رشد و توسعه واقعی راهی جز سرمایه گذاری در زمینه تحقیقات ندارند. در دهه اخیر توجه به تحقیقات در ایران نیز از گسترش قابل توجهی برخوردار گشته است. توسعه دوره های تحصیلات تکمیلی در سطح دانشگاههای کشور مخصوصاً در دوره های دکترای تخصصی منجر به افزایش سریع و چشمگیر تولید علم در زمینه های بنیادی و کاربردی شده است ولی توسعه فناوری که لازمه تبدیل علم به محصول است نتوانسته از طریق فعالیت‌های پژوهشی در سطح تحصیلات تکمیلی در دانشگاهها به انجام برسد. واحدهای تحقیقاتی با هدف انجام پژوهشهای کاربردی و حرفه‌ای در توسعه فناوری در داخل و خارج دانشگاهها تأسیس گردیده‌اند. ارزیابی عملکرد مستمر این واحدهای تحقیقاتی با توجه به اهدافی که در تأسیس آنها در نظر گرفته شده است با تعیین و تدوین شاخص های مؤثر و مفید ضروری است. در این مقاله مدل جدیدی برای ارزیابی عملکرد واحدهای تحقیقاتی طراحی و نتایج اجرای آن برای برخی از واحدهای تحقیقاتی دانشگاه صنعتی امیرکبیر به عنوان نمونه ارائه شده است. یکی از نتایج حاصل از این ارزیابی می تواند مسیر فعالیت های واحد های تحقیقاتی را تعیین و جهت حمایت و پشتیبانی بیشتر از واحدهای تحقیقاتی فعالتر مورد استفاده دانشگاه قرار گیرد.نیز واحدهای تحقیقاتی که عملکرد آنها ضعیف می‌باشد، آسیب شناسی شده و جهت رفع مسائل عدم فعالیت آنها اقدامات جدی از طرف دانشگاه اتخاذ شود. http://jiu.ir/fa/Article/Download/42
